St. Paul's Historic Pipe Organ Our organ was built in 1876 in Boston by E. & G. H. Hook and Hastings for use in First English Lutheran Church, Springfield, Ohio. It served that community until 1919, when it was displaced for a larger instrument. It later served another congregation, and ended up in a private home. In 1981, Mr. & Mrs. Marvin Katz of Westville, Ohio graciously donated the instrument to St. Paul's for restoration. The organ was brought to St. Paul's in 1980 and lovingly cleaned and refurbished by members of St. Paul's. Andover Organ Company of Methuen, Massachusetts rebuilt the chests, added some new pipework and made tonal modifications to give the instrument a clean, bright sound able to fill our large sanctuary. Since the late 1980s, Foley-Baker of Tolland, Connecticut has cared well for the instrument. Our congregation is very proud of the organ, as it is one of relatively few historic pipe organs in Fairfield County. 1876 Specifications:
