Worship & Music

As Christians, worship is the center of our life together.  Since earliest times, Christians have gathered on the first day of the week.  Our worship is an offering of praise to God.  As we gather, we focus on the Word of God found in Scripture and share a meal, where we encounter our Savior in the breaking of the bread.  We are then sent forth to bring the Good News to others.  This fourfold pattern of gathering, word, meal and sending nourishes and strengthens us, preparing us to do the work of God in the world.  In worship, we are connected to Christians throughout the world and throughout history.

Worship is at the center of all we do at St. Paul's.  We gather each Sunday for worship at 10:00 A.M.  Our worship reflects the many cultures and traditions found within our community, as well as the rich cultural tradition of our ancestors in faith.  Come and join us as we experience the living God!

Music, especially congregational singing, is an integral part of our worship.  A typical worship service might include music from three different continents and three different centuries.  Music is chosen for its ability to illuminate the Scripture readings and themes of the day, and includes traditional and modern hymnody, spirituals and other music from the folk tradition, classical music, and gospel.  We are led in song by our beautiful 1876 Hook and Hastings pipe organ, 1929 Baldwin baby grand piano, and our Adult Choir.  Children and youth serve as instrumental and vocal soloists on a regular basis.

Our Adult Choir rehearses each Sunday from 9:00 to 9:45 A.M. (except during the summer).  New members are always welcome.  Please feel free to contact our Director of Music, Frank Martignetti, if you feel called to lift your musical talents in praise to the Lord!

St. Paul's is a beautiful space for making music, and concerts are held a few times each year.  Watch this website for announcements!   See a list of past performances here.
